Confession is a bit daunting for many, but we need not fear it.  It's a chance to take stock of where we stand, and try to say before the Lord what we find in our own lives with as much honesty as we can bring to it.  Naturally, some preparation is a good idea.  At the link below, from St. Peter and St. Paul Orthodox Church in Illinois, one will find three ways of approaching confession; perhaps at least one of them will be helpful:
